What Echelar does in Slack
- Start a Session from a mention
- Ask a question about the codebase, request a change, or hand over an investigation. The Session is visible in the Echelar app and its result returns to the thread.
- Investigate an alert
- Any message in an enrolled channel can trigger an Automation you authored — including the alerts your monitoring tool already posts there. Echelar reads the alert, investigates the repository read-only, and posts its diagnosis and a proposed patch; code changes wait for a person's go-ahead.
- Keep identity attached
- Requests and approvals carry the Slack user's mapped identity, so a pull request shows who asked.
What it cannot do
Limits are part of the integration, not a setting. The security page covers where code runs and who can enable what.
